On  2 November   we celebrated Halloween in our school. There was a great party with lots of spooky Halloween fun and contests here. Finally, we all deserved the delicious pumpkin shaped cake made by one of our Checkpoint students - Julia Stebel.

Special thanks to Mr Michał Skowroński for taking photos!

24 November, 2011

On 24 November 2011,  42 performers from Domowe Przedszkole, Szkoła jak Dom, Gimnazjum Amicus and Complex of Silesian International Schools took part in a piano show at the assembly hall of our school. We enjoyed simple melodies and songs for kids as well as more serious pieces, some of them conneced with upcoming Christmas. Parents, grandparents and young pianists' friends in the audience had a really good time. It was worth staying till the end of the performance. Mmes. Danuta Kościelny, Katarzyna Wróblewska and Aleksandra Gąsiorczyk had  prepared all the performers for the show. Congratulations to all of you. See you again in May.

Group 4 Project (G4P)

On November 10, 2011, the Group 4 Project was presented to the IB Diploma Programme Students and Teachers. The presentation was prepared by the 2DP students.
The G4P is an interdisciplinary project within the framework of Biology, Chemistry and Physics and is carried out annually by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students. This year the 2DP students had a chance to focus on the range of topics related to the human circulatory system. The outcome of their collaborative work is a 35 minute movie presentation titled: "The Circulatory System”.
We do hope that this year's presentation will inspire the future generations of the IB students in our school and that IB Diploma Programme with its subsequent projects will still be an interesting experience for all of us.

The Memory Day

In accordance with an old Polish tradition on the All Saints' Day people light  candles and think about those who passed away. Therefore on 28th  October children from Polish Kindergarten, together with their foreign friends visited the biggest cemetery in Katowice and lit candles on the graves of those whose names are not known or forgotten.
After that everybody went to the nearby park and spent some time in the playground.
