6 December, 2010
December 6th is a very import day in each child’s life. On that day children from the Primary Programme together with their Polish friends went to visit Santa. When they came to his place they had an opportunity to decorate a Christmas tree, which they could later take to the kindergarten. He also gave them some Christmas cookies and a tasty juice. Naturally all the children were well prepared for the visit and when they saw him at the door they sang some songs for him – as beautifully as they could. Than each group went into the special room to have a little chat with Father Christmas and receive some presents. It surely was an unforgettable event for all the participants.

The Trip to Cracow
On 18th November 2010 Stage 5 (International Class) together with 2b Class went to Cracow to visit Wawel Castle and take part in the glass balls making workshops. Thanks to exhibitions of State Rooms, Royal Private Apartments and Crown Treasury and Armoury, our students had a chance to find out how rich and interesting the history of Poland is.
After that, everybody went to the factory to decorate glass balls and see what their production looks like. In the end, classes ate dinner at the restaurant and did some shopping in Sukiennice (Cloth Hall).
31 October, 2010
This year all the children from the Cambridge Primary Programme celebrated Halloween together. They had great fun wearing their costumes and making Jack o'Lanterns from their pumpkins. Before "trick or treating" each child had to pass the test to check ifs/he is brave enough. The test showed that nobody was scared of spiders, everybody could find a bat's eye in a sticky liquid and drink vampire's blood. After collecting sweets children spent some time together eating what they had collected and singing Halloween songs.

The Trip to Guido
On 28th October 2010 International Classes Stage 5 and Checkpoint went to Zabrze to see the Guido Coal Mine. The group had a chance to go 170 and 320 meters underground to experience what coal exploitation is like. The interactive formula of visiting, accompanied by light and sound effects made an unforgettable impression on students. The trip showed how difficult and demanding the job of a coal miner is and of what importance it is to our region.

The Trip to Warsaw
On 23rd of September Class 5a together with the international Stage 5 and Checkpoint1 went to Warsaw to see “The Little Prince” performed at Teatr Roma. Thanks to superb acting, dancing and singing that accompanied the show it was really a stunning play.
After the performance all pupils had dinner at the restaurant so that they could continue their trip to the Warsaw Rising Museum which also was in our itinerary.
In one of the most modern museums in Europe our students could feel the atmosphere of those times, listen to stories of eye witnesses, visit a replica of the Liberator bomber and walk through specially designed sewers.
Full of emotions we went back to Katowice, where pupils were picked up by their parents.
Many thanks to Ms. Mariola Zarek and parents who took care of the children during the trip.
