Healthy competition can also be a way to learn. Even before Easter, our international school held a spelling competition, of course in English. It has already become a part of our spring activity plan and has been very popular for many years. Children from grades three to six are very eager to participate. Two students are chosen to represent each class, and the other students cheer them on enthusiastically. We usually have three stages, after which we choose the winners. The formula is very simple. Children are given a list of words that can be used in the competition, and when they draw them, they must spell them correctly. The next stage is to recognize the word described by the competition host and spell it correctly again. The finale includes "the most difficult words" and the three finalists on stage. and the emotions are HUGE!

This year's finalists were Alicja Góra (grade 4a), Mahika Das (grade 3b) and Andreas Koukoutimpas (grade 4b). We awarded the first two places ex aequo because both competitors had an equal level of spelling knowledge. The score was actually determined by one question, in which Andreas made a mistake. This year we almost won three equal first places. Alicja, Mahika, Andreas you were amazing!

Congratulations to everyone who decided to take part in the fun. We are convinced that the positive emotions will be remembered for a long time. It was a really good competition!

We would also like to thank the teachers running the classes. It was thanks to you that the level was so even. We are waiting for the next competition, because the bar has been set high.
